Subsequently he worked for North Manchester Health Authority supplementing his NHS work by working for a number of Sports Injury Clinics within the private hospital sector. This lead him to become involved in professional sport and he worked for Leigh Rugby League Club ( 1984-89), Wigan Rugby League Club (1989-94), Great Britain Rugby League (1990-94), Manchester United Football Club (1994-99), Wales (2002-2005) to his present post at Blackburn Rovers FC (1999-present date) . He lectures extensively internationally and in the UK on subjects related to sports injury rehabilitation and isokinetics, has had articles published in several rehabilitation related journals and is the author of the book 'Collision Sports Injury and Repair'. He is also an honorary lecturer at UCL and University of Central Lancashire.
