EU Directives and Irish Statutory Instruments: Physiotherapists wishing to practise their profession in a country other than that in which they obtained their qualifications must first get their qualifications recognised. Physiotherapy falls under the ‘general system' of professional qualification recognition under EU Directive 2005/36/EC.
