The Societys physical activity campaign hits the news today in the Irish Daily Mirror.
A new campaign is urging parents to keep their children active for at least 60 minutes a day during the Summer months. Research claims that one in five youngsters in Ireland are meeting the recommended guidelines for physical activity.
Chartered Physiotherapist in Crumlin Childrens Hospital Nicola Lyden said: "With school out you can encourage them to join a club and consider walking or cycling to play dates of summer camps. As well as encouraging physical activity try to reduce sedsentary behaviour by limiting screen time to a maximum of two hours a day especially with the excuse of better weather."
