  • Overview of the NRH paediatric spinal cord injury (SCI) service and pathway
  • Outcome measures in paediatric SCI
  • Managing the consequences of SCI
  • Practical aids & supports
  • Principles of physical interventions used in paediatric SCI management
  • Seating in children with SCI
  • Practice of functional skills: bed mobility, transfers etc/
  • Case Studies and discussion



Event Description

The practical management of children with spinal cord injury (SCI).

This course is aimed at physiotherapists and occupational therapists with children with spinal cord injury on their caseload.

Presenter Profile

Presentations on this day will be delivered by various members of the NRH paediatric team and adult spinal cord injury service including: SCI Service Consultant, SCI Service clinical specialist in physiotherapy, senior paediatric physiotherapist and occupational therapist, paediatric clinical nursing manager and paediatric liaison nurse.
