Event Description

This practical course aims to equip you with the skills to assess and categorise shoulder instability. With an emphasis on structured clinical reasoning and guidance on progressive rehabilitation strategies, the clinicians have drawn on their extensive clinical experience and most up to date evidence to give you the skills and confidence to manage this common clinical presentation. 

Presenter Profile

Michelle is working as a clinical specialist physiotherapist in Beaumont hospital where she leads the upper limb physiotherapy team. She is also working in an extended scope role in shoulder assessment and rehabilitation. She has 9 years of experience working in shoulder rehabilitation. Michelle completed her undergraduate degree in the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 2008 and her master’s degree in Neuromusculoskeletal Physiotherapy from UCD in 2016 with first class honours. 


Edel leads the upper limb rehabilitation service at the Sports Surgery Clinic, Dublin. Edel completed her honours degree in physiotherapy at Huddersfield University in 2006 and completed her Masters in Manipulative Therapy at Sheffield Hallam University in 2014. She has presented at both national and international conferences on rehabilitation of the shoulder. Edel has a keen interest in shoulder biomechanics, the sporting shoulder, and injury prevention. She is currently completing her PhD at University College Cork, investigating return to sport post shoulder stabilisation. 


Clare is a clinical specialist physiotherapist at Beaumont Hospital and works as an advanced practitioner in shoulder assessment and rehabilitation. With over 15 years of experience specialising in Orthopaedics, she has developed a special interest in non-traumatic shoulder instability. She graduated from the University of Ulster in 1998 and completed her MSc in Sports Physiotherapy at University College Dublin in 2005.
