Assessment of Hip and Groin Injuries

Differeniate and rehab hip and groin injuries

Event Description

Hip and groin injuries are a major problem in many team sports, for example, in soccer these injuries can account for 20% of all injuries encountered. This area is made even more complicated by the close proximity of multiple structures and similar signs and symptoms.

To shine light on this topic we will be joined by Eamon O'Reilly here at Sports Physio Ireland to provide expert tips and clinical experience on how to differeniate and rehab hip and groin injuries.

Eamon graduated from Sheffield Hallam University in 2007 with an Honours degree in Physiotherapy and completed his taught masters – Msc. in Advanced Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy (Manual Therapy) at Sheffield Hallam University in 2014.

Eamon worked in the Sports Surgery clinic for 5 years prior to founding his clinic SPARC. He was clinical lead for Hip/Groin, dealing with a range of complex chronic athletic injuries around the hip including recurrent hamstring issues, lower back, abdominal and hip/groin issues. He enjoys treating all musculoskeletal injuries.

He is also a certified strength and conditioning specialist (C.S.C.S), with a keen interest in performance rehabilitation and has worked with various teams at an elite level. He is currently lead physiotherapist with the Dublin Senior & U21’s hurling teams and has worked with the senior team since 2011. He is the current lead physiotherapist with the Irish International Rules team.

He has a love of all sports and has represented Cavan GAA at all levels in Gaelic football.

Eamon has a special interest in lower limb biomechanics, chronic groin and hamstring injury, kicking injuries and long term athlete development.

The seminar will be tailored towards physiotherapists (qualified and students), strength and conditioning coaches, physical therapists, sports therapists, etc. Judging from our previous seminars we are expecting a sell out so don't hesitate to buy your ticket while they are still available.

Looking forward to seeing you all there!
