Event Description

Course Description

This 1-day practical training course hosted by The SPORTTAPE ACADEMY is aimed at anyone working in the sporting sector wishing to gain knowledge and a skill base in the application of a variety of taping methods. The course will combine the use of traditional taping methods with the more modern kinesiology methods. The morning session is spent learning the major traditional taping techniques using Zinc Oxide and EAB tapes. Then in the afternoon we add in some k taping alongside it to achieve maximum efficacy. We have spent time creating a combined taping course that is strong in practical nature and will challenge each participants’ clinical reasoning and question when we tape, rather than just showing how. On completion of a course, participants will be able to confidently apply techniques to a variety of pathologies within a sports and general musculoskeletal setting. The only pre-requisite is a strong working knowledge on human anatomy and an open mind, so is perfect for Physiotherapists, Chiropractors, Osteopaths, Sports Therapists and Sports Doctors. The course is also suitable for students of these sporting professions wishing to enhance their skills before graduating.

Presenter Profile

SPORTTAPE

SPORTTAPE was launched in 2010 and we’ve been on an epic adventure ever since. Our goal has always been to create products that are loved and solutions that are exploratory, educational and inspirational. There is a great deal of satisfaction to be gained from making something well, of such superior quality that you know it is going to last the distance and stand the test. It makes the hard work and the obsessing over each and every detail worth all the effort. That’s our reward. And believe us when we say, we obsess over every detail. SPORTTAPE is self-funded, profitable, and slowly taking over the world (the UK!). Our team of 4 introvert(s), extrovert(s), right brains, and left brains works hard to make products people love to use. Open source thinking, closed doors manufacturing. All of our ideas are open sourced; we will happily share our thinking in return for yours. Whilst our products are manufactured exclusively for us to our exact specifications, take for example our FLEX kinesiology tape, which we believe is the best kinesiology tape in the world. Our unique blend of honesty and product quality has gone down a treat. If you have any questions about us or our products then please get in touch, we'd love to hear from you. Alternatively check us out on Facebook or Twitter.
