Entry To Practice Student
This category of membership is only available to students of the entry to practice/ pre-registration physiotherapy programmes in Ireland.
Entry to Practice Members have access to the services provided to Practicing Members (with the exception of insurance cover and hard copy publications). Taking out student membership is an excellent way to develop your professional skills and links with the profession in advance of entering the workplace.
In addition, when Student Members complete their course, they also get a considerable discount on their first year of Practising Membership

Practising Membership
Practicing Members are full members of the Society with full voting rights. They have access to discounted insurance through our Insurance Broker, Glennons Ltd, as well as access to the full suite of Professional Development and Professional Issues supports offered by the society and Information resources on a vast array of topics including our bi-annual peer reviewed journal, our e-zines and our quarterly magazine, Firsthand.
By taking out practicing membership you also ensure that the society is able to continue working on your behalf to advocate for the profession and to raise awareness of the profession in the eyes of the public, HSE and other health professionals.

Associate Membership
Physiotherapists who have had their qualifications recognised by the Society but are either not practising or practising overseas can avail of this reduced rate membership rate.
With Associate membership members can avail of the Society’s professional development services to ensure that they maintain their competence while they are not working in Ireland, as well as stay in touch with information of relevance to the profession through our journal, our weekly e-zine and Firsthand magazine. Note that this option does not include access to the Society's discounted insurance scheme.

Are You Eligible?
Undergraduate physiotherapy education programmes in the Irish Universities (R.C.S.I., T.C.D., U.C.D., U.L.) are accredited by the ISCP. Graduates are eligible to become members of the ISCP and can work in the Irish public health system without individual qualification validation.
The Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists (ISCP) is no longer the designated authority acting with the approval of the Minister for Health for the recognition of physiotherapy qualifications in the Republic of Ireland (S.I.139/2008). Applications for Qualification Recognition from 30th September 2016 should now be made to CORU (www.coru.ie). The Qualification Recognition process is guided by EU Directive 2013/55/EC amending the 2005/36/EC.
