The Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists (ISCP) are reminding and encouraging everyone to stay active to maintain and improve mental health.

Health Minister slammed by Chartered Physiotherapists for potentially placing public’s health at major risk

The Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists (ISCP) has expressed its deep anger and frustration at the Health Minister for putting public health at risk, and causing widespread public confusion and has directed its members not to register with the new physiotherapy register under CORU, the State health regulator, which is due to open tomorrow.

Alarming amount of over 50s in Ireland are not exercising enough despite very high awareness and knowing they should be doing more!

Carrying a school bag is something all Irish children have to do. However, it is an activity that is often associated with pain, discomfort and poor posture.

19th January 2016: Debate in Seanad during which Minister Varadkar announced his intention to make a decision re protection of titles very shortly, followed by ISCP meeting with Minister for Health re forthcoming decision.

22nd January 2016: Decision by Minister Varadkar to protect both titles (physiotherapist and physical therapist) in one register announced in a letter to CORU, and copied to ISCP and other organisations consulted by Minister in 2015.

Physiotherapists can help older people to be independent, improving quality of life and reducing health care costs. This is the message from the Chartered Physiotherapists across Ireland as they prepare to take part in World Physiotherapy Day on 8th September 2016.

This year for World Physiotherapy Day on the 8th of September the ISCP are running with the campaign chosen by the World Confederation for Physical Therapy (WCPT) 'Add Life to Years'. Under this title there is a range of materials available to members. These include:
