This 1-day course will cover key aspects of assessment and management of frailty and sarcopenia from an interdisciplinary perspective. The course will include an overview of appropriate nutrition and exercise strategies.

Learning Objectives
- Understand how an integrated, interdisciplinary approach to the management of sarcopenia and frailty i.e. nutrition (dietetics) and exercise (physiotherapy) will benefit service users.
- Understand the value of exercise, nutrition and skeletal muscle health in prevention and management of sarcopenia and frailty in the older person
- Identify appropriate methods of nutritional and physical activity assessment specifically for frailty and sarcopenia
- Discuss the most recent guidelines and emerging approaches for exercise and nutrition interventions in older adults for the prevention and/or management of sarcopenia and frailty in the context of supporting a multidisciplinary approach
This course has been funded by the National HSCP Office. Places will be offered to those working in publicly funded healthcare service only.
