Presenter Details Siobhan O’ Reilly Bracken MISCP, MPA, MSc, CLT Founder of The O’ Reilly Physiotherapy Centre for Lymphoedema, Cancer Rehab and Sports.  Siobhan is a breast cancer survivor since 1996 and has been teaching courses in breast cancer rehab since 2010. In Dublin, she is based out of Milltown Physiotherapy. Since Covid began in early 2020 Siobhan has been meeting monthly with a global group of world renowned breast cancer researchers and clinicians looking at ways of expanding patients access to evidenced based physiotherapy using technology with in-person services.

Details on delivery of event:

This course is a combination of webinars and self-directed learning

  • Four 1-hour webinar sessions over the 10-week period
  • Self-directed online learning over a 10-week period


The course starts with the first webinar on Tuesday October 12th October and ends on 7th December. 

This allow a total of 10 weeks access to content on the website before access officially closes.

Course Objectives

  1. To gain an overview of breast cancer including; its prevalence, anatomy, what is cancer, types of breast cancer, risk factors, testing and diagnosis
  2. To understand breast cancer treatment including; surgery, reconstructive surgery, post-op issues, chemotherapy and radiotherapy and the roles of the cancer and rehab team.
  3. To understand evidenced based breast cancer rehabilitation interventions that will gain excellent results for patients including; clinical and functional assessment, fatigue management, post-op level 1, level 2 and level 3 exercises, cording and neuropathy exercises, measuring lymphoedema, compression sleeves, self-scar massage, Physical Activity (PA), Pec stretching, and Women’s Health.

A 15 CPD Certificate of attendance will be awarded to successful participants who

  • Complete the 27 online lectures
  • Pass the 3 quizzes with 80% pass rate
  • Who attend the 4 webinars
