| Presenter Details | ‘Evelyn Kimmage is a Physiotherapist with 11 years of clinical experience. She graduated from Trinity College Dublin in 2014 and since graduating has gained experience in community, rehabilitation, acute and ambulatory care settings. In September 2023 Evelyn commenced in the role of Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist in the regional specialist memory clinic in Tallaght Hospital. Since then she has been working to promote the role of physiotherapy for patients with complex motor-cognitive syndromes and establish a specialist physiotherapy service for this patient cohort.’ ‘Fiona Smyth is a CORU-registered Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist with over 15 years of experience in geriatric services, adult intellectual disabilities, and memory assessment services. She currently works as a Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist in the Regional Specialist Memory Clinic at St. James' Hospital. Fiona's role includes the assessment, treatment, and education of individuals with dementia and other cognitive disorders. Additionally, she provides vestibular assessment and rehabilitation in the Falls and Syncope Unit at St. James' Hospital. Fiona completed her MSc in Neurology & Gerontology at RCSI, with her thesis exploring aging with an intellectual disability in Ireland. With a strong background in falls prevention, Fiona is also involved in service development and is a project lead on the EverActive programme. This community-based programme promotes brain health and balance for people living with cognitive impairments and their families.’ |
