Presenter Details | Emma Gorman & Aoife Lennon Aoife & Emma are clinical specialist physiotherapists in the Mater University Hospital - a large specialist critical care unit with supra-regional specialties. They are involved in the management of patients requiring advanced ventilatory support, including ECMO and patients requiring complex weaning and rehabilitation interventions. Both have postgraduate MScs from University of Ulster - Aoife in Professional Development in Physiotherapy; Emma in Advanced Physiotherapy Practice. Both are heavily involved in teaching and training for out-of-hours competency and delivering quality rehabilitation interventions as part of a collaborative MDT. |

The first session will focus on mechanical ventilation modes, the components of assessment of a mechanically-ventilated patient and physiotherapy treatment options.
The second session will discuss options for rehabilitation and exercise in a ventilated cohort.
