This one-day online course returns due to popular demand. Please book early to secure your place. It is suitable for healthcare professionals looking for an introduction to clinical gait assessment. The course will be delivered through a combination of online lectures and small group guided discussion sessions.

Course Objectives:

  • Participants will be introduced to the outputs of clinical gait analysis - kinematics, kinetics and electromyography.
  • Participants will become familiar with typical gait and common pathological gait patterns.
  • Participants will be guided through clinical reasoning and treatment planning using gait analysis. This will be facilitated through smaller interactive group sessions.
  • Emphasis will be given to evidence-based decision making with appreciation of the relevant literature.

There will be a strong focus on paediatric neurology, but the course will include content relevant to gait assessment across a variety of clinical presentations and specialties.

The event will be hosted on Microsoft Teams Live. We recommend that you download Microsoft Teams to your device in advance of the course. For you to get maximum benefit from the interactive group sessions you will need access to a microphone and camera on your device.

If you require more information about the course, please contact Andrea at amarron@crc.ie.

Note: This course will be a prerequisite to a follow-on more advanced Level 2 gait course.
