Presenter Details | Deirdre has run a very successful and busy private practice in Howth, Co. Dublin for over 30 years. She developed an interest in myofascial therapy over 20 years ago and has become Irelands leading proponent of the technique. She has taught many courses in the subject in Ireland and is a clinical and educational resource for physiotherapy colleagues all over the country. Deirdre has always had a keen interest in sports having competed at a national level in athletics in her teens. Combining this interest with her clinical skills she became lead physio for the Irish triathlete team for the London Olympics in 2012. Today she still sees high level athletes in her practice. Myofascial therapy has a very wide application and is particularly useful in the management of chronic pain in patients that have “tried everything”. Deirdre has developed a specialty in the successful management of these highly complex cases. |
