Presenter Details NEIL O’ GRADY, BSc Ost Med D.O. (1st class Hons) , MOCI, S&C 
Neil holds a BSc. (Hons) in Osteopathic Medicine, is registered osteopath, and runs a busy clinic in Cork.
He also holds qualifications in Orthopaedic Dry Needling, Craniosacral Therapy and Strength & Conditioning.
He has an ​extensive background in sports including athletics, boxing, triathlon and bodybuilding. Previous to becoming an osteopath, Neil had a 16-year career as an army officer, including service in the special forces unit of the Irish Defence Forces, The Army Ranger Wing.
All of these things, combined with a love for learning, give Neil an in depth understanding of injury.

This is a face to face, hands on course.

Day 1: Understanding Pelvic Anatomy and Dysfunction

  • Detailed Anatomy of the Pelvis

    • Explore the bony anatomy, pelvic ligaments, and muscles that play critical roles in pelvic function.

    • Learn how pelvic structure influences lower limb movement and stability.

  • Common Pelvic Dysfunctions

    • Understand the different types of pelvic dysfunctions including:

      • Sacroiliac joint dysfunction (SIJ)

      • Innominate lesions (anterior and posterior rotations, inflare and outflare dysfunctions)

      • Pubic shears and leg length discrepancies

  • Clinical Indications & Contraindications for HVT

    • Master the safe application of HVT techniques and understand the specific cases where they are most effective.

Day 2: Mastering Mobilisation & High Velocity Thrust Techniques

  • Mobilization Techniques for Pelvic Dysfunctions

    • Hands-on training in specific mobilizations to treat SIJ and innominate dysfunctions.

    • Learn the biomechanics behind each technique and how to apply them effectively to restore pelvic balance.

  • High-Velocity Low-Amplitude Thrusts (HVLATs)

    • Step-by-step instruction on performing HVLATs for the pelvis, including:

      • Side-lying lumbar roll

      • Sacroiliac joint thrusts

      • Prone thrust techniques

  • Muscle Energy Techniques (MET) for Pelvic Alignment

    • Gain proficiency in MET to correct anterior and posterior innominate rotations, shears, and other pelvic imbalances.

  • Orthopaedic Testing for Pelvic Dysfunction

    • Learn key tests such as the FABER test, Gillet test, and Standing Flexion test to accurately diagnose pelvic issues and guide your treatment plans.
