|Presenter Details||Amy graduated with a BSc in Biological and Chemical sciences from UCC before graduating with aBSc in Physiotherapy from the University of East Anglia in Norwich. Amy has undertaken a widerange of postgraduate training in falls prevention, bone health, exercise prescription, womens healthand elderly rehabilitation.Amy is a certified Cancer Rehabilitation Physiotherapist having completed her training with PINC andSTEEL international.Amy is a Dr Vodder Certified Manual Lymph Drainage Therapist and registered with MLD Ireland.MLD is a specialised therapy to improve the functioning and drainage of the lymphatic systemAmy is a Canoeing Ireland Level 2 Kayak Instructor and a Canoeing Ireland “Bridge the Gap”Ambassador. Amy is lead and founder of “Ladies who Launch”- cancer kayaking group and “PaddlingPals”, a group for the more mature lady and involved in West Cork Kayak Club Special Olympics! Amybelieves exercise, especially in the outdoors, has a very big role to play in mental and physicalwellbeing and is pivotal in rehabilitation. Amy is currently undertaking a Masters Program inOutdoor Education and Wellness in Atlantic Technical University.
Lowry has taught Pilates for over 13 years, ever since discovering the method while working as a physiotherapist in Cork city. With interests in sport and Physiotherapy, Lowry graduated from RCSI in Dublin with an honours degree in Physiotherapy. After travelling to the UK, Lowry trained with several different Pilates Teaching Schools. Recognising the potential of Pilates for clinical rehabilitation, Lowry and Amy developed the MaxPhysio Method in order to bring a holistic and functional approach to a rehabiliation approach that lasts across the lifespan.

The MaxPhysio Method
Our Reformer Pilates Teacher Training Program is a comprehensive program designed by Chartered Physiotherapists and Pilates Instructors with over 40 year’s experience.
Developed specifically for the people we see in clinics everyday and with proven results.
This course will
- Provide a holistic approach to functional movement for the general population
- Teach why we need to incorporate certain movements for the rehabilitation population Vs the Well and Fit
- Integrate preventative health strategies and messaging that translates into a class program and setting
- Progress exercises and class planning from beginner through to a challenging full body repertoire
The course itself
October 14/15- 16 hours contact
November dates to be decided - 4/5 16 hours contact
Online 3 - 4 online sessions - class programming / machine safety
2 - 3 x mentoring sessions
the exam for certification
- manual with all exercises and descriptions plus relevance to rehab
- access to online supporting video library of exercises
Cost 1500 – this will include an exam and certification to qualify for insurance.
