Presenter Details With over 20 years practicing physiotherapy graduating with BSc Hon in Physiotherapy in 2003 and MSc in Sport Physiotherapy in 2017, Jo has a vast range of experience across hospital, private practice, and high-performance sport settings. Working at the most competitive level of sport for over 15years with professional, Olympic and Commonwealth athletes Jo has treated and rehabilitated many complex spinal related injuries and complaints to the highest level. Now working in private practice, homing these skills to the general population and clinical setting has led to specialise management of both common and challenging spinal conditioning.
Now leading on the professional development of new graduates and junior staff across 3 private practice clinics as helped to identify the need to upskill physiotherapists on fundamental skills of assessment and practical hands-on therapy. With a passion for manual and exercise therapy, Jo has created a series of in person courses to further develop and enhance physiotherapists in safe, effective and management of patients.

This course has been developed to introduce and upskill physiotherapist in spinal pathology, assessment and treatment of common conditions. This course is targeted at newly graduate physiotherapist, junior physiotherapist and those wanting to upskill for musculoskeletal rotations or moves into private practice. This course is based on the fundamental skills of subjective and objective assessment, understanding of anatomy and spinal pathology, develop clinical reasoning skills to make patient orientated treatment and management plans based on NICE guidelines and clinical practice recommendations in the literature by Blanpied, 2017, Corp et al, 2021, Delitto et al, 2012 and Price 2021.  

Guiding the physiotherapists though patient centred assessments based on current research and clinical experience of advanced practitioners. Underpinning the core principles of patient centred care, through safe effective manual therapy and rehab principles.
