Kiera Brown is a passionate Chartered Physiotherapist with a focus on facilitating clients to discover their own movement potential so as to improve their performance – whether that is in everyday life or at elite sports level.
Having graduated in 1998, with a BSc(Hons) in Physiotherapy at the University of Ulster, Kiera spent a few years in a hospital setting before moving into Private Practice in 2000. Kiera has an interest in Chronic Pain, Wellness, promotion of Physical Activity for all.
Kiera has had the privilege of training in Acupuncture, under the direction of Mary Pender and graduated from UCD 2002 and then further training with world-renowned experts Dr Tan’s (Balancing method) and John Tindall in London.
She has always loved watching and teaching beautiful, graceful, powerful movements. Initially, she trained in London in 2004, with Body Control Pilates. In 2019, Kiera trained with Joanne Elphinston with the JEMS movement and the results are amazing. She enjoys working with clients to uncover their own dysfunctional movement patterns, understand how those patterns fuel their pain/ recurrent injuries and then holding the space for clients to discover their own solutions.
Kiera volunteers with her local GAA club – Kilmacud Crokes. She is the Healthy Club Officer, responsible and sits on the Executive Board. She is responsible for Diversity & Inclusion and Promotion of Health and Wellbeing for the Club. She is the club representative to the Sport Forum and the Sports Forum Representative to the Board of DLR Sports Partnership, which main objective is to increase sports participation for all within our community.
During her time off, Kiera is now focusing on cycling. Having had the privilege of running the New York and Dublin Marathon, she now prefers 10 km leaving the longer distances for the bike! Kiera completed a cycle of 670Km over 4 1/2 days from Mizen to Malin in June 2022 with KC Wheelers to fundraise for Kilmacud Crokes & Breast Cancer Ireland with the group raising over 220K.
