Mark specialises in whole body functional assessment and treatment with an approach that blends LJ Lee’s ConnectTherapy and Joanne Elphinston Movement Systems (JEMS) allowing for a very detailed and comprehensive assessment to understand the patients movement and postural habits and explore imbalances and dysfunctions that are present.
Mark is very active within the physiotherapy community and was prevoius Chairperson for the Chartered Physiotherapists in Private Practice in Ireland.
Mark graduated with a MSc. in Physiotherapy from the University of Teesside in 2007. He emigrated to Canada and worked in Vancouver and Nova Scotia as a physiotherapist for four years, in two well-established clinics. As well as gaining valuable experience, Mark also had the opportunity to work with Olympic medallists and international and national sports men and women from various disciplines. He also completed his Level 3 Advanced Manipulative and Manual Therapy certificate in Canada. Mark returned home to Bantry and opened Bantry Physiotherapy and Sports Injury Clinic in 2012 and has continued to progress and develop his physiotherapy practice attending courses in Ireland and the UK. Mark is the only physiotherapist to have completed LJ’s Lee ConnectTherapy level 3 in Ireland and has enhanced his assessment and treatment approaches with JEMS level 2. He continues to expand and explore these techniques in his everyday practice.
Mark also holds a BSc. Sports Therapy and has completed numerous post graduate courses including Trigger Point Dry Needling, Sports Massage, Gait Analysis and Foot Orthotic Prescription.
