Applications are invited for the Fixed Term position of Bank staff (Weekend staff and/or Monday to Friday locum) Physiotherapist in St. Vincent’s Private Hospital.

 

 

Essential Criteria

The post holder must have:

 

  • BSC in physiotherapy or an equivalent qualification.
  • Be CORU registered and be a member of or eligible for membership of The Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists.
  • Demonstrate sufficient clinical knowledge and evidence based practice to carry out duties and responsibilities of the post.
  • Become part of the multidisciplinary team involved in the care for patients.
  • Work with the Physiotherapy Manager in ensuring the coordination, development and delivery of quality, client centred physiotherapy service.
  • Display effective communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to collaborate with health
  • professionals/ patients/ families and carers.
  • Demonstrate ability to plan and deliver care in an effective and resourceful manner within a model of person-centred care.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to continuing professional development.
  • Maintain guidelines and protocols relating to the SVPH Physiotherapy service.

 

Desirable

It is desirable for the post holder to have:

 

  • Post graduate experience in Respiratory, Orthopaedics and Oncology
  • Completed acute respiratory under-graduate placements

 

Key Responsibilities  

  • Carry a clinical caseload applicable to the post
  • Be responsible for client assessment and the development and implementation of individualised treatment plans that are client centred and in line with best practice
  • Be responsible for goal setting in partnership with the client, family and other team members
  • Adhere to legal, professional and local requirements regarding documentation
  • Communicate and work in co-operation with other team members
  • Develop effective communication and provide instruction, guidance and support to service users, families, carers etc.
  • Participate in review meetings, case conferences and ward rounds as appropriate
  • Maintain professional standards of practice in line with the scope of practice of the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists & CORU
  • Maintain quality standards of work and co-operate with quality assurance programmes
  • Work within own scope of competence in line with the principles of best practice, professional conduct and clinical governance
