Description

Motion Health and Otago Rugby looking for expressions of interest for the role of Clinical Physiotherapist with Motion Health Dunedin and Team Physiotherapist with the Otago  Women’s Rugby team (Otago Spirit).

The contract is a full-time one from 1st February 2023 and is based in Dunedin. You will be required to travel with the team for all matches and selected training (home and away)

The clinical role will be working within our Dunedin-based clinic with the flexibility to move between sites, following the completion of the season seeing a mixture of Community/Sports Medicine

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years' post graduate experience, ideally with some time spent delivering physiotherapy support within an environment with high performance sport/athlete involvement

The Physiotherapist will be expected to:

  • Be available for team training, camps and internal touring schedule.
  • Co-ordinate and manage all player treatment and monitoring, in conjunction with the Spirits strength and conditioning coach
  • Liaise with the Coaches, team Doctor and Sports Science team over medical and injury issues
  • Liaise with NZR medical staff and collect data as required for their injury surveillance requirements
  • Input data into the NZR injury Management System database for NZR contracted players

The ideal applicant will:

  • Be a NZ-registered physiotherapist or seeking registration in 2023
  • Be able to communicate effectively with elite athletes of all ages
  • Have previous experience working with sporting organisations or teams
  • Have strong administrative and organisational skills
  • Have the ability to assume some Management responsibilities when travelling with the team.

ICIR accreditation is helpful, but training will be provided If you have an interest in Rugby/Sports Physiotherapy, are a good team player and are ambitious to work in a vibrant new team with some of NZ’s top Rugby Players.
