Job Summary:

We are seeking an enthusiastic Orthopaedic, Musculosketal and Sports Physiotherapist to work in a successful, fast-paced out-patient clinic alongside Orthopaedic Surgeon, Mr Ray Moran. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to learn in-depth knowledge of the diagnosis and management of sports and orthopedic knee injuries in elite and recreational athletes, in the surroundings of a world class orthopaedic and sports injury clinic.

The ideal candidate should be hard-working with an enthusiasm to learn and motivation to problem-solve. The candidate will need to be agile and time-efficient due to the busy nature of our clinics. Excellent attention to detail and a capacity to prioritize tasks is essential to provide the highest standards of patient-centric care. The candidate should be emphatic and have exemplary communication skills to successfully manage a diverse client caseload. A passion for sports injuries and a drive to help guide injured athletes successfully back to sport is essential.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and diagnose musculoskeletal and sports injuries and develop appropriate treatment plans.
  • Utiliae a range of assessment and treatment techniques, including manual therapy, exercise prescription, and rehabilitation.
  • Triage client referrals in a timely manner.
  • Advise the administration team on the coordination of clinic and theatre caseloads.
  • Management of patient pre-operative and post-operative queries.
  • Document client records in accordance with professional standards and company policies.
  • Work closely with other members of the multidisciplinary team, including doctors, physiotherapists, and other healthcare professionals both inside and outside of the organisation.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, explaining their conditions and treatment plans in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of new services within the clinic group.
  • Liaise in a professional and respectful manner with client referrers and sports medicine team.
  • To take responsibility for and keep up to date with Physiotherapy practice by participating in continuing professional development such CPD courses and reflective practice.
  • Contributing to the development of policies and procedures to improve the quality of care delivered by the clinic.
  • Inform the orthopaedic surgeon and his personal assistance of staff issue’s (needs, interests, views) as appropriate.
  • Represent the orthopaedic practice at meetings and conferences as appropriate.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to engage and develop IT skills relevant to the role.

 

Candidate Requirements:

 

  • Undergraduate Physiotherapy Degree or MSc equivalent is required.
  • CORU registration & ISCP Membership required.
  • 3 years post graduate experience ideally in a musculosketal or orthopaedic setting is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience working with sports teams i.e., GAA, rugby, soccer is desirable.
  • Professional indemnity insurance is required.
