Description | Axon Rehab has exciting opportunities for experienced Staff Grade and Senior Physiotherapists interested in working as part of a multi-disciplinary team implementing a hybrid model of intensive rehabilitation. Using traditional occupational therapy skills, augmented by the latest in rehab technology, we develop individualised treatment programmes to effect real change in patients’ lives. The latest clinical guidelines on rehabilitation are now recommending increased intensity or dosage. To achieve the ambitious recommendations of such guidelines our team utilise the latest in rehab technology to make intensive rehab possible, more achievable, measurable, and more fun for the patient. Seeing is believing and many patients are motivated by results they can see, in visible measures and games, and interpret themselves. Established in 2021, Axon Rehab is a private practice based just off the M7 in Birdhill, North Tipperary. We utilise the latest in world leading rehab technology, such as, gait and hand robotics, sensor-based tools, electrical stimulation suits & devices, and various other types of rehab technology. We provide a detailed initial assessment and, should the patient wish to proceed, intensive treatment packages for neurological conditions including stroke, multiple sclerosis, acquired brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, Parkinson’s disease, and many others. “This role re-enforces why I wanted to become a therapist. Working as part of a MDT, utilising the latest in rehab technology, hands on with patients, effecting real change in their rehab journey, making a real impact in their daily life.” – AXON REHAB Team Member Due to the high demand for our service, we are recruiting a number of clinical therapists (Junior & Senior) but are particularly open to applicants with experience working in a neuro rehab environment, in public or private settings, in Ireland or overseas. Suitable candidates will have the following traits: · Works autonomously on initiative but can contribute to a multidisciplinary team. · Thinks ‘outside-the-box’ when implementing a patient centred programme. · Aware and supports the latest guidelines in relation to providing increased intensity/dosage as an essential part of rehabilitation. · Initiative in professional development by attending various courses & conferences, etc. and shows specific areas of interest which can be supported by employer. · Willing to expand his/her horizon and shape the development and growth of the practise in a safe way. · Can hear patient goals, expectations & barriers to rehab, and hence can facilitate them making treatment packages patient centred. · Willing to use an innovative, holistic, and technology-based approach to rehabilitation. · Understands the process of brain plasticity, “repetition without repetition”; believes in high dosage and intensity of rehab. · Believes in the limitless patient capacity in rehab. · Good at communicating with both patients and colleagues. · Ability to bring a smile to the face of the patients and colleagues you work with and enjoys what they do every day.
The role is based in Birdhill, North Tipperary, which is just off the M7 motorway making it very commutable from various counties, such as, Tipperary, Limerick, Clare, Galway, Offaly, Laois, etc. Reporting to the Clinical Lead, the role offered is a full-time position, however, initial part-time hours also considered, with a view to progressing to a full-time position. Full training will be provided on all technology used in the practise and continuous training offered. Admin/reception support to allow clinicians get on with clinical work. Opportunity to conduct research in conjunction with colleagues and patients, with the aim of publication, within the practice to advance personal professional development.
Clinical responsibilities of the role include: · Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to complete assessments of patients with potentially complex presentations and cognitive problems. · Develop and provide treatments using evidence-based practice. · Incorporate advanced rehab technology striving for effective and appropriate outcomes. · Maintain accurate patient record of treatments provided and progress throughout. · Manage treatment time and calendar professionally. · Potential to partake in the supervision of student clinicians. · Share ideas and knowledge with colleagues through regular in-service sessions. · Provide clear communication to patients and colleagues. · Contribute to a pleasant, courteous, and professional working environment.
