In the position of Senior Physiotherapist: Cardiothoracic while carrying a clinical case load, the role will be responsible for patient assessment along with development and implementation of best practice treatment plans. Whilst participating in an on call rota, the other aspects of the role are (but not limited to): · Demonstrate a high level of clinical expertise in the area of Cardiothoracics. · Review and update Cardiothoracic Protocols all relevant documentation · Instruct/teach junior staff, students and team members with regard to Cardiothoracic procedures. · Keep abreast of current advances and research in Cardiothoracics to ensure that a high standard of care is maintained by the physiotherapy service. · To attend courses and study days as appropriate and liaise on a regular basis with other Cardiothoracic facilities. · Participate in the on-call rota as required Successful candidates must be: · CORU registered · A graduate of B.SC (Honours)degree in Physiotherapy or a Physiotherapy qualification validated by the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapy · A member of the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists · In possession of a Continued Professional Development Diary which includes evidence of reflective practice, In-service training, courses attended and Clinical Governance gained · Attending Post graduate courses relevant to their clinical specialty The above are all part of what makes up the full job description which can be requested. The position works a standard hours of 35 hours per week.
