UCC Rugby Team Physiotherapist

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Role:

To provide physiotherapy services to the UCC First Team and U20 Squads. To liaise and work with medical, athletic performance and coaching staff on all physiotherapy related issues within the squads.

Areas of Responsibilities:

· Provide match day cover for all First Team games and ensure cover is provided for all U20 games.

· Attend squad sessions on Tuesday and Thursday evening at The Farm Curraheen 6.30 to 8.30pm.

· Provide if required extra clinics in addition to attendance at squad sessions.

· To work with Club Doctor in the treatment and monitoring of injuries to UCC First Team and U20 players.

· Assist with the club Injury Tracking / Monitoring systems and ensure the injury data is kept up to date using agreed templates.

· Attend monthly review meetings.

· Assist with designing injury rehabilitation programs for injured players and work with athletic performance staff on delivery of the rehabilitation programs.

· Work closely with other specialists in injury rehabilitation of injured players.

· Design and implement an injury prevention program.

· Assist with referrals for Imaging / Consultations.

· Ordering and management of supplies.

Key Qualities.

· Degree or equivalent in physiotherapy / Registered with the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapy or equivalent.

· Registered with CORU.

· Post graduate physiotherapy experience working in a clinical setting or sports medicine.

· Excellent communication skills.

· Excellent interpersonal; skills and the ability to develop effective working relationships.

· The ability to work well within a team environment.

· Good organization skills and ability to manage own caseload.

· Flexibility and willingness to work hours outside of prescribed hours.

Remuneration.

Fees in line with Sports Clubs rates for:

· Attendance at training (based on a 2-hour clinic) or Extra clinics when required.

· Individual Consultations.

· Match Day Cover Cork.

· Match Day Cover Limerick / Dublin

· Overnight
