The Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists wishes to appoint an Honorary Editor for the quarterly magazine, Firsthand.

JOB SPECIFICATION

The Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists (ISCP) wishes to appoint an Honorary Editor for the quarterly magazine, Firsthand. The vacancy will arise from November 2020 for the next Board term to November 2022.

The Role

The role will require the successful applicant to be available to for the following duties

• Member of the board – attends meetings (6 times a year)
• Liaises with Communication officers of CIG’s/Branches/Employment groups re articles for Firsthand
• Liaises with Communication Manager on the following
  • Dates and deadlines for Firsthand
  • Collaborating on content and design
  • Adverts
• Liaising with CEO/Communications Officers/Professional Advisor/International Affairs
• Composing editorial for each issue
• Sits on the communication committee (meets 4 times a year)
• Monitoring Firsthand email account for content
• Articles proofread by Communications Committee. Proofreading on content and layout of each issue done by Hon Editor

Level of commitment required

• 6 board meetings
• 4 communication meetings
• Working on 4 issues of Firsthand every year
