Event Description

Clinical Audit is the systematic review and evaluation of current practice against research based standards with a view to improving clinical care for patients.

This course is split over two evenings – one in  October and one in  December

In the first session the theory and process of audit will be covered. Participants are then encouraged to plan or conduct an audit in their workplace before the second session.

At the second session participants will be able to discuss their experiences of planning and/or conducting an audit. They will be able to ask questions, feedback on their experiences and discuss any challenges or barriers they encountered.

The aim of this course is to stimulate and facilitate clinical staff in conducting audits of their practice. This is achieved by

  • Educating staff
  • Advising on audit design and process
  • Identifying existing sources of information, literature and electronic information systems on individual projects and on audit in general
