Job Title:  Lecturer

Reporting To:  Head of School of Physiotherapy or nominee
Location:  123 St Stephens Green, Dublin 2
Department: School of Physiotherapy
Contract type/duration: Permanent full-time post

Objective of this post:

The objective of this post is to pro-actively contribute to the teaching, research activity and development of the School of Physiotherapy. The successful candidate will assist with the delivery of the RCSI curriculum in the multi-cultural environment of RCSI Dublin, ensuring academic quality and consistency across the RCSI campuses. RCSI is seeking a professional who is passionate about teaching, would like to experience working as an academic in a multicultural environment, who demonstrates initiative, openness and resilience.

  • Specific Responsibilities include:
  • Developing, delivering and examining teaching programmes within the School of Physiotherapy
  • Contributing to the development of postgraduate teaching and research within the School of Physiotherapy
  • Contributing to the overall design of the teaching programmes in the School of Physiotherapy
  • Performing administrative activities in teaching, research, student admission and assessment.
  • Participating in the academic administration of the School of Physiotherapy
  • Representing  the School of Physiotherapy on appropriate committees as required
  • Complying with statutory legislation and College rules and requirements in furtherance of your own and general staff welfare and safety
  • Undergoing programmes of training and development as may be required from time to time
  • Representing the best interests of the School/College at all times
  • Undertaking overseas assignments as may be required from time to time
  • Undertaking such other duties as may be required from time to time

 

  • Person Specification Essential:
  • A minimum of MSc degree
  • Expertise in cardiorespiratory physiotherapy
  • Evidence of research publications
  • Strong teaching interest and skill set, as evidenced by experience of, a proven track record in, and enthusiasm for undergraduate teaching and assessment in cardiorespiratory physiotherapy
  • Effective communication style appropriate to audience and situation
  • Can build and maintain strong working relationships
  • Registered with, or eligible for registration with, CORU

The Process:

Interview and presentation

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a formal competence-based interview and a panel-based presentation at our main campus at RCSI Dublin on the 17th of July 2019.
