Basic Grade Physioterapist
Fulltime - Permanent position in Adult Servces
St Michael's Houe are currently seeking an energetic an enthusiastic Basic Grade Physiotherapist to join our busy Physiotherapy Department of 12 staff which provides a range of services to children and adults with intellectual and physical disabilities.
The advertised post will be allocated to Adult Services. The position will involve services provison within the organisations North and / or North East Regions. Supervision will be available from experienced Senior Physiotherapists on the team.
The successful candidate will have the following:
Degree in Physiotherapy accredited by the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists.
Be registered or be able to show proof of pending resgistration with CORU.
Experience working (including student placements) in the Intellectual disabilities area.
Have experience (including student placements) working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to support families and staff.
Have excellent communication and team working skills.
Have excellent time management skills and the ability to work in a self directed manner.
Full clean driver licence and use of a car.
Experience in the prescription of orthtics.
Experience working with service users with postural care needs.
Experience working with service users with balance issues and falls.
Minimum of 6 months post qualification work experience relevant to physiotherapy in intellectual disability.
Experience working/volunteering in the disability sector an advantage.
