| Presenter Details | Fiona graduated from University College Dublin with a BSc in Physiotherapy in 2005 and has specialised in women's health physiotherapy since 2008. She has over 17 years of experience supporting women through pregnancy, postnatal recovery, pelvic health and menopause. After working as a Senior Physiotherapist in a large maternity hospital for seven years, Fiona returned to her native County Kerry, where she has set up her own private practice, Anú Women’s Health Physiotherapy in Kenmare. She has extensive experience assessing and treating a wide range of women's health conditions and is passionate about helping women understand their bodies, regain confidence and return to the activities they love. Her areas of expertise include: Pregnancy-related musculoskeletal pain Postnatal recovery Diastasis recti (abdominal muscle separation) Pelvic floor dysfunction Urinary and faecal incontinence Pelvic organ prolapse Pelvic pain Vaginismus Menopause and pelvic health Fiona's commitment to evidence-based practice has been a constant throughout her career. She completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Continence for Physiotherapists through the University of Bradford before completing a Master's degree in Evidence-Based Practice at University College Cork. Her research focused on physiotherapy following obstetric anal sphincter injuries and was published in the ACPWH Journal. She also presented her research at the ACPWH Conference in Bristol. Alongside her clinical work, Fiona is passionate about education. She leads the online postnatal rehabilitation programme with The Bump Room, delivers educational webinars for women and healthcare professionals, and has lectured on the DCU Nursing Master's Module Managing Continence in Clinical Practice. She also developed a six-month mentoring programme for physiotherapists beginning their careers in pelvic health and is a committee member of the CPPHC. Fiona is a certified APPI Pilates instructor with specialist antenatal and postnatal training and believes in combining hands-on treatment, education and exercise to help women recover with confidence. As a busy mum of three young daughters, Fiona understands first-hand how physically and emotionally demanding motherhood can be. Her goal is to create a warm, supportive environment where every woman feels listened to, understood and empowered. |
