Course Overview:
A Strength & Conditioning course for healthcare professionals interested in an evidence-based approach to youth strength and conditioning and/or exercise rehabilitation prescription. This three-day course is the industry standard strength & conditioning qualification for fitness/healthcare professionals working with young athletes (9-17 year old) in Ireland.
Course Accreditation:
This course provides CEU's with NSCA and ACE professional membership associations.
Course Aims:
To provide participants with a practical, evidence-based approach to youth strength and conditioning coaching (9-17 year old) which will involve both lecture and practical based sessions.
Learning Outcomes:
By the end of the three days, participants will be able to:
- Understand the importance of growth and maturation for the young athlete
- Design structured and effective training plans for youth athletic development
- Build complete performance programs to develop physical qualities
- Design and deliver RAMP warm-up protocols
- Develop and train energy systems according to sport-specific demands
- Implement plyometric training for power production
- Understand how to coach strength and power development to young athletes
- Integrate injury prevention strategies within performance programs
- Use testing data to optimize youth athletic development
