Emily is a Chartered Physiotherapist with 29 years clinical experience. She graduated from University College Dublin in 1996 with a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy and began her career as a physio in the National Health Service (NHS) in Wales.
Since 1996 Emily has sought out additional education opportunities in order to be able to provide optimal care to patients. She completed a Masters in Physiotherapy from the University of Manchester (2000), and when working in the USA she completed Masters in Biomechanics from Ball State University, Indiana (2008) and a PhD from Nova Southeastern University (2010). Additionally in 2010, Emily completed a yearlong fellowship in manual therapy at Duke University in North Carolina.
In 2011, Emily began her academic career at the University of Indianapolis where she taught the orthopedic and manual therapy tracts of classes in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program. While in her academic role, Emily maintained an active clinical practice at Franciscan Alliance in Mooresville, Indiana.
Emily began her training in the McKenzie Method while working for the NHS and completed her training and credentialling in the USA. With this background in McKenzie Method of mechanical diagnosis and treatment (MDT), Emily values the importance of assessment of movement on a patient’s symptoms.
With a particular interest in helping patients manage symptoms arising from the neck and temporomandibular joint (TMJ), Emily has completed additional training.
