Statement on Israel and Palestine

As an organisation representing health professionals, the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapist (ISCP) joins with colleagues in supporting the World Health Professions Alliance (WHPA) Statement on the conflict in Israel and Gaza.

In doing so, the ISCP is calling for the protection of all citizens including healthcare personnel and for sustained humanitarian access for supplies, medicine and rehabilitation for those who need it. The ISCP calls on the parties to respect access to health as a human right and supports the principle of medical neutrality during times of conflict to enable healthcare workers to fulfil their ethical duty to provide safe care to all who need it. The ISCP supports the Irish Government in relation to seeking the release of all hostages, a ceasefire in hostilities and taking concrete steps to achieve long term peace, stability and security for all.

The ISCP extends its condolences to all those who have lost loved ones in the conflict and expresses its hope for the safe return of all hostages to their families as well as commending all healthcare personnel providing care to those affected
