Two MISCPs to Feature at World Physiotherapy Congress 2027
Two ISCP members selected to help shape global discussions on the future of physiotherapy, education and digital innovation.
We are delighted to congratulate Fran Theron and Dr Cúisle Forde on their selection as contributors to the World Physiotherapy Congress 2027, which will take place in Guadalajara, Mexico, from 14 to 16 May 2027.
As the profession's largest international gathering, the Congress brings together physiotherapy leaders, researchers and clinicians from around the world to explore emerging issues, share expertise and help shape the future of the profession.
Fran Theron
Fran Theron, ISCP Professional Advisor, will speak at a focused symposium on "Future-Proofing Physiotherapy: Building a Digitally Ready Workforce."
Fran brings extensive experience from clinical and professional practice roles across public and private healthcare systems internationally. In addition to her work as Professional Advisor to the ISCP, she serves on the Professional Practice Working Group of the Europe Region of World Physiotherapy and has represented Ireland at numerous international meetings and congresses. Her expertise spans professional practice, health economics, project management and public management, and she has played a key role in several European collaborative initiatives.
The selection of both Cúisle and Fran to contribute to the Congress reflects the expertise, leadership and influence of Irish physiotherapists on the international stage. The Society is proud to see our members helping to shape important conversations about the future of physiotherapy, education and healthcare delivery.
Dr Cúisle Forde
Dr Cúisle Forde, Associate Professor in Physiotherapy at Trinity College Dublin, has been selected to moderate a focused symposium entitled "The Future of Education: Can Planetary Health and AI Co-Inhabit a Physiotherapy Curriculum?"
An Education for Sustainable Development Fellow, Cúisle's work focuses on the intersection of healthcare education, digital innovation and planetary health. Her research explores how emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, can enhance clinical decision-making and education while supporting more sustainable healthcare delivery. She has received national recognition for her contributions to both digital innovation and sustainability in higher education.
