Professional Networks

The Society has over 23 Professional Networks to support you in your career. Each Network focuses on a key area of physiotherapy practice and is led by a volunteer committee that focuses on each networks members need.


Every member of the society is automatically a member of a branch. These are responsible for disseminating professionally relevant information on a local level and facilitate many of the society’s regional CPD offerings as well as providing networking opportunities to physiotherapists working in each region.

Clinical Interest Groups

The Society has 11 Clinical Interest Groups that members can join. These include the following clinical areas:
Acupuncture, Cardiac Services, Musculoskeletal Therapy, Neurology and Gerontology, Occupational Health & Ergonomics, Oncology & Palliative Care, Paediatrics ,Respiratory Care , Rheumatology, Sports & Exercise Medicine, Women's Health and Continence and International Health and Development.
Each group organises a number of CPD events each year targeted to their own clinical areas. By being a member of clinical interest group opportunities exist for developing mentoring relationships and developing your career within your chosen speciality.
In addition, the Society has a number of Niche Interest Groups such as the Veterinary Practice and pain management Niche Groups

Employment Groups

The Society has 2 Employment Groups covering Management and Private Practice. Each of these groups offers supports specific to these unique working environments.
